Tanaka, Takeshi
Dr. Takeshi Tanaka completed his master’s degree of Pharmaceutical Science in 2003 at Okayama University, with research on drug resistant mechanisms of E coli. After joining Kowa Company, Ltd. as a toxicologist, he was in charge of toxicological assessments of various compounds in the development of pharmaceutical agents. While working at Kowa, he received his doctorate in veterinary pathology from Gifu University in 2016, with his research on developmental neurotoxicity, focused on adult neurogenesis of the hippocampus, at the laboratory of Prof Makoto Shibutani in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Dr Tanaka joined Dr. Elena Aikawa’s research group at CICS in April of 2019, and is now working on exploring pharmacological targets for cardiovascular calcification.
