Dr. Xun Liu joined CICS in April 2015 as a research fellow after the completion of her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at University of Missouri-Kansas City. The title of her dissertation is “Proinflammatory Cytokine / Chemokine Expression in Human Astrocytes: Induction by HIV-1 Nef”. Prior to her graduate study, Dr. Liu did her BS in Pharmacy at China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, China. She is continuing to investigate the role of macrophage activation in HIV patients with cardiovascular diseases in Dr. Masanori Aikawa’s group at CICS.
